Sample Invitation Letter for Canadian Visa written for Guest Minister at a Church Event.

If you plan on inviting a guest minister from outside Canada for your church event, then you would need to send out an Invitation letter for Canadian Visa. The letter should present the details of the guest minister and the program he or she will be participating in. The invitation letter should be written on the official letter headed paper and signed by one of the designated signatories for the Church.

The requirements are a little different from those for a friend or family member, so a look at the list of information required will be helpful. You can find the list here –Invitation letter guide from Immigration Canada.

Below is a sample invitation letter. The names on it are fictitious but this format has been used and visas have been issued using this format. There are other formats that can be used. The most important thing is for the information required to be on it.

You can invite your wife. It is also a good idea if you can get a supporting letter from your club.

I have friends whose parents will be sending invitation letter for our tourist visa. The question I have, do they need to mention their job tittle or occupation as they are retired? or will just skip that from invitation letter format. Or if it is mandatory for invitation letter can we mentioned retired , will it impact our application? Fast response appreciated.

If you do not have an address in Canada, it will be difficult to write an invitation letter. You are qualified to write an invitation letter though as long as you have an address in Canada.

I would like to us if there a preference if the letter should be address to the visa officer or to the parents that I am inviting to? And should it be a bullet form on what they’re asking of a formal letter such as paragraph form.Thank you very much.

      Hi Chris,
There is no preference! Anyone you like works! However you are required to send the letter to your parents regardless of whom it is addressed to! Use any format! Bullet or paragraph! I’ve used both and they were ok

    Hello,
I would like to invite my parents for my upcoming wedding to visit Canada, but I recently lost my job. I have a part-time job though. Is it ok if my common law spouse write the invitation letter to them instead as he has a full-time stable job. Does he also need to attach a pay stub or T4? Or do we need both to sign the invitation? Your response is very much appreciated. Thanks

I’M FOLLOWING ONE OF YOUR INVIVTATION EXAMPLES AND I SEE THAT THERE IS ALSO A LETTER WRITTEN TO THE PERSON COMING. IS THAT ALSO TO BE DONE. HOW LONG AFTER EVERYTHING HAS BEEN SENT AND IMMIGRATION HAS ACCEPTED WOULD WE START PLANNING FOR HIM TO COME. IT HAS DATES ON THE INVITATION BUT IS IT THAT SET IN STONE, HENCE THE TIME LINE.

    THANKYOU

    1. Dems Post author

      Hi Susan,

You don’t need to send two different letters. You could choose to write a letter addressed to your guest or one addressed to the consulate. You will need to send the letter (which ever format you choose) to your guest. You should not send it to the consulate. Once your guest has received your letter, and prepared their application, they can send their application to the consulate or apply in person, depended on their country of residence.

Yes the time begins to count as soon as the application is submitted by your guest. The time is not cast in stone. However it is important to note that once the visa is approved, it will be valid immediately.

What country does your guest reside in?

Hello I’m trying to decide which application I should apply under for my mother in jamaica. I am a Canadian citizen, employed in a good job. My mother is 53 years old with a small business back home. Should I apply for a regular visiting visa or the parent super visa. Which is easier to get?

    Reply
    1. Dems Post author

      Hi Rashida,

The regular visa is easier to get because your mum will do all the work. The parent super visa involves a little more work because you will be the one applying for her. However when she gets it, she can come more and stay longer. Since you have a good job and if you are willing to do the work, you may as well go for the parent super visa.

If you are not ready at this time to do the parent super visa because it involves more documentation and may delay her coming, you can apply for the regular visa and plan to do the parent super visa later.

As long as your mum prepares properly for her visa interview and she puts are documents together properly, she should get any of the visas without much trouble. You may visit http://www.visainterview.info to get your mum some help to prepare for her interview.

      All the best Rashida

      Hi Malik,

This is a very good question. I do not think there is a limit technically. However I must say I don’t know practically if there is a limit. I think you have a right to invite as many as you want, it is the responsibility of each of your guest to prove that they are qualified to receive visas.

      Hi shrikant,

I do not have all the answers to your questions. I’ll answer some and maybe if I get a better answer I will add more.

      1) The first letter on this page has been used by many people to invite their mother. Just change it to Dear Mother or Dear Mom !
      2) You really do not need to mention your job description. Occupation is good enough.
2b) Yes you can apply for the super visa when she is already in Canada..
      3) I am not too sure about the current sponsorship rules for parents. I know that you can always initiate the process when they are already in Canada. It could take a while for the immigration to go through.
I don’t know how long it takes to get a tourist visa in India. I’ll let you know as soon as I get an answer.

I wish you all the best. I pray your mom will join you in Canada soon.

      Hi Mariane,

You really don’t need to have it signed by a notary public or a commissioner of oaths unless it is required in the country that your guest is visiting from.

If you still want to find a notary public, just google notary public in your city and a list should come up.

      Hi Saleem,

You can send one invitation to them. Write it. Print it. Sign it. Scan it and send it to them. If you want a commissioner of oaths to sign it, you can do that. Otherwise just scan the signed document to them via email. I have done that a few times and seen others do it and received their visas. I hope this helps.

Me and my wife is Permanent Resident here in Canada and we are planning to invite my mother in law to come here. Because my wife is pregnant and is giving birth soon. So we might need the help of my wife’s mother when the baby comes. My question is I am currently working but my position is just casual but I am working full time since then. My wife is not working because we have a 3 y/o son. Are we qualify to invite my mom in law as visit visa even though I am the only one working and is casual? Thank you.

    Hello Dems,
your articles and samples are very helpful, so thank you! I have two inquiries:

    1. I am a Canadian citizen currently living outside of Canada, I am studying at a University in Ecuador. My friend wants to visit Canada with his cousin. Can I write the letter of invitation? I do have an address in Canada which is my mom’s house, it’s where I’ve always lived with my siblings, and where I go to when I visit on summer vacation while I finish school in Ecuador. I’m asking because I’m not sure if I have to be living there right now to receive my friend and his cousin. Or should my mom write the letter of invitation?

    2. Should two separate letters of invitation be made to my friend and his cousin respectfully? or just one letter of invitation with my friend as the principal guest, and his cousin’s information added below the letter?

A quick reply would be great please, thank you for your time!

    Reply
    1. Dems Post author

      Hi Lucy,

Yes, you can write the letters. If your friend is an adult then it would be better if you write two separate letters for them. I have written an invitation letter for a friend while I was outside Canada. The visa was given to him. However, I wrote the letter as if I was in Canada. I knew that I would be in Canada at the time of the visit. Though I was not in Canada at the time of writing the letter. Technically, you can’t invite a person to visit you when you are not there. If you know you will not be there at the time of the visit, then maybe you can ask your mom to write the letter if she doesn’t mind.
The truth is if you assume that you will be in Canada when they get there. You can write the letters.

Coincidently I should be travelling to Canada around the same time as my friend and his cousin’s visit, but since they will be staying a few days, there is a possibility that we might miss each other. I think I will take the safe road and ask my mom to do the letter, in this case 2 separate letters. Thanks so much for your help and quick reply!

      Hi Analyn,
I am not an immigration officer so I am not able to tell you if your previous experience in the USA will affect your Canadian application or not. Writing an invitation letter may work but the chances are quite slim. You may need to try other streams of immigration. However, you don’t lose much except the application fee and time by trying.

We will be staying at my parents house and I will provide a letter from my father confirming that he will accommodate us for the duration of our stay. Is this sufficient? To clarify, I am Canadian and my husband is the guest.

Hi Hala, your husband has to show that he would leave Canada after the delivery! This is difficult to show as a husband!

Here is my suggestion! Invite him anyway even though the chances are 50/50. You may be the lucky ones!

I am a PR but I am working abroad. However, I file returns and pay taxes. Can I invite my friend to visit canada? Is it necessary to write a specific purpose of his visit or is it ok to come for tourism, sightseeing etc. He has enough funds and strong roots to home country.

      Hi David,
If your name is on the invitation letter from school and his name is on it too, then it is okay.

    Hello
Imy husband and I are planing to invite his parents to come visit us next year.
.They are both unemployed but have a house (in Serbia) and also older son lives with them with his wife and kids….We would only be inviting the parents
What are the chances of them being declined as they don’t work?
Also I red somewhere that we need to make certain amount per year to be able to invite someone over
It said if inviting one person a family of 5 should have a minimum of 50k earnings per year
But if we want to invite both we would need to make more.
My husband is the only one working as we have little kids and I’m a stay at home mom
I’m just afraid that we don’t meet the requirements
    Thanks

      Hi Vela,

If they are older and are not staying for too long you should be okay. There are no fixed income levels for writing an invitation letter to invite parents for a visit. There is a special visa for parents and grand parents. If you are applying for this visa, you will need to consider your income. I hope this is helpful?

    Hi,

I have few friends in Canada. I am planning to apply Canada visit visa and asked them to send me Invitation latter. Shall i ask my all three friends to send invitation latter individually or just single latter from one friend is enough.
Does three invitation latter from friends effect some positive weight on application?
