      Yes Robert,

You need an invitation letter from him! Its better to find our more details about the visa application fee on the Australian immigration website. You will be the one to pay the fees. All he has to do is write you a letter of invitation and show some documents to prove his status.

Hi i just got recently married with my husband and we applied for his spouse visa this March 2015. We are planning to get his 2 sisters and brother in law and one child to visit Australia for only 6 days. Is it possible for me to invite them? I am a permanent resident here. Will they be in only one application? Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Vel, yes you can invite them! You could use one letter and each of them can include a copy of the letter in their visa applications!

You may also visit the Australian consulate website for their home country to see if they can apply for the visa in one application! The family with the baby can apply in one application, I’m not sure if the other adult can be on the same application !

A huge thanks for your feedback & response, this is a bit of a surprise for me uncertain if it will happen but it seems likely, i have a lady friend who apparently is organizing a similar invitation letter, judging by what i have read with your samples above it will be just for a holiday and to be a tourist
in Australia over the next few weeks, if all goes according to plan. As you can imagine i am pretty new at doing this and some feedback & some general ideas would be great, thanks P.C

    Hello,

I need to apply for business visa to Australia. I will need a longer term visa for minimum 2 years. I will be going there only on business and will not stay for more than 8-10 days at a time. The business venture will require me to travel on short notice, I will neither be undertaking any employment nor will be deriving any income during my stays.

Can you please help me with the business invitation letter format? Thanks.

Hi, I have a friend in Ecuador that is planning to come for a holiday in Dec. I’ve read the sample letter and that I am required to include a photo copy of my passport as well as copies of my bank statements! I think its ridiculous and a huge security risk sending it in the mail. What if it gets delivered incorrectly? Can I black out my Passport number and Bank Account Number? I have to send my letter, with my passport and financial details all the way Ecuador! Identity Theft is a huge issue.

    Reply
    1. Dems Post author

Hi Kim, you really don’t need to send your bank account! It’s good to do so if you are offering to pay for the trip! As per your passport, a scanned copy is good enough! You could also send pdf copies of ur bank statements! Many people I know have used electronic copies and they were accepted! Not that emails are safer but at least the delivery is not as scary as regular mail!

Hi there, I’m an Italian citizen and I’ve been to Australia before on 2 whv’s, after those were over, I was going to study but changed my mind because it wasn’t something I really wanted to so got a tourist visa instead, which I was on for about 6 months (having left the country and come back again). The last time I left I went travelling in Asia for a little and met someone from Australia and tried to get a tourist visa to visit him, but I was denied that visa as they said that I had already been in the country long enough. I’ve been told by lawyers and even the immigration that it’s best to be out of the country for the same amount you were in, it’ll be 2 years but I was there for about 2.5 years, so I’m wondering if it’s better for me to get an invitation letter from the guy or if I’ll have the same outcome whether I apply for a tourist visa or try an invitation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Hi Lili, yes you need to send him an invitation letter from Australia! The chance of him getting a visa is about 50% because it is very difficult for him to prove that he will return to his home country! However if he has a very good job and lots of reasons to return to his home country then he may simply apply as a tourist and then visit you!

    Hi Admin,
I want to invite my close relatives (uncle and aunt) to visit me here in Sydney for my wedding. they will only require a tourist visa for a month or even less. I wont be able to accommodate them during their stay but they will be staying in a hotel. Can I still send them an invitation letter?

    thanks

Hi I am currently located in Sydney on work deputation for a year . I wish to invite my sister to visit Australia around May two weeks . Currently I am staying with a friend and have no accommodation of my own . Can I still invite my sister over as I have not planned on the accommodation yet . Also what bank details do I need to show while sending the invite (eg how much balance should I have to be able to sponsor her stay)

    Hello,

I am a NZ citizen who has lived in Australia for over 10 years. Can I invite my gf from the philippines to visit for a week? Or do they only allow PR’s and Citizens?

    Regards,

      Hi Jay,

If you are living legally in Australia, you can invite a guest. The real challenge however is for your gf to show that she will return to the Philippines after her visit.

      Hi Katrina,

You are able to write this letter for them if you have an address in Australia. You are a citizen and you have the right to invite them.

I will be joining a friend on the rally indonesia (annual international sailing) that will start in July from Australia to Indonesia. I need to be there earlier for testing and some pre sailing training. What do you suggest that he write?

    Hi,
I want to write an invitation for my sister and dad to come visit me and my family here in Perth. The only issue I see is that I am a stay-at-home mum looking after my two kids but my husband has a permanent job. We have our own house on mortgage. And both of us are Australian Citizens. Will my non-employment status affect the decision for their visa application?

      Hi Dazzell,

No your employment status will not affect the decision. What is most important is that your family members show that they will return home after their visit. You may choose to write the letter with your husband. That way it shows that you are both inviting them.

If you are a student, you may need to show that you are in school and you intend to return to your school to complete your program. In this case, a transcript will be good.

    Dear Admin,
Im married to an Australian. But he has no job for 2 years now. Can my husband’s brother sponsor a tourist visa for me and my baby? Because my brother in law is financially stable and wants to sponsor a tourist visa for us. Thankyou.

      Dear Kate,

The visa officer would want to know why your husband is not inviting you. Also they would want to know why you are applying for a tourist visa and not an immigrant visa.

    Hi Admin,

I have a friend in thailand i want to invite to Aus for 4 weeks. Can i apply for a tourist visa for her on her behalf here in Aus.
I understand that i will need to give her an invitation letter, also a letter of invitation and intention with the visa application. I will be supporting her during her stay. I do own and manage a Pty Ltd Company and financially stable. I will be on leave while she is here.
What do i need to do?

      Hi Peter,

She has to apply for the visa on her own. You can only support her with documents. She still has to show that she would return to Thailand after the visit.

    Hi Im Merlina

Im planning to invite my friend to visit me from Indonesia to melbourne, I’m currently studying here as an international student for almost 3 years. I will be supporting her expenses and accomodation while she is in Australia, that means that I have to prove my financial status such as bank statement in the invitation letter? how much money in the bank should I have in order for the tourist visa to be granted?
what else do I need to do?

Thank you, looking forward for your reply

      Hi Merlina,

Sorry I thought I had responded to your question. Here it is again. You really do not need to show financial proof that you can host your guest. It is your guest that needs to show that she has a regular income or schooling that will make him/her go back to indonesia after the visit. You are not required to provide proof of funds. If however you want to provide any document, you should simply provide proof of regular income if you have any. I hope this helps.

        Hi,
sorry Im still a little bit confused, as far as Im concerned, the tourist visa requirements said that it needs to proof of having at least Indonesian rupiah of 5 millions or AUD 5000 as well as the consistency for the past 3 months of having those funds in order for the visa to be granted. however my friend doesn’t have that much of money because its me who invited her and will support all her expenses while in Australia. Is there any minimum amount of regular income that my friend should show in the application?
and also, does the letter of working in institution of my friend classified as a prove that she will return to Indonesia after the visit?

        Thank you

          Hi Merlina,

There are more factors involved in granting a visa than the money. Since your friend does not have much money in her account, then it may just be a little more difficult for her to get a visa. My suggestion is that your friend gets letters from her place of work and any other document that she thinks can help her show that she will return to indonesia – such as community, family ties, landed properties… It’s not easy for people who are young and not properly tied to their home countries to get visas. However, its not impossible. I think you can support your friends application with your pay stub from the last 3 months if you have a job.

You may also wish to consult an immigration lawyer to help with the visa application. They would charge you some money though.

Hi Dems! Good Day! I will be applying for a Visitor Visa to Australia this March. My sister is not yet a resident in Australia (PR) since she has been staying there for 1 yr and 4 months now. She is going to apply for a PR later of June. Her current status in Oz is Skilled Migrant Visa holder of Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489). Do you think she could invite me for a visit? as my Australian Contact? Is it necessary that the one who invites you must be a Permanent Resident or an Australian Citizen?

      Hi Lechar,

Anyone who is a legal resident of Australia is eligible to invite you. i think your sister is eligible. if you can show that you have enough ties to your home country, you may visit Australia. If however you intend on immigrating to Australia, its better to follow the path for immigration. For this i would suggest you contact an immigration lawyer.

    Hi Admin,

I am on bridging spouse visa and being 8 month pregnant. My husband is Australian citizen. We would like to invite my mom to visit Australia to support us in taking care of the baby (our first one). My mom visited Australia one time before (on our wedding occasion). Should I or my husband write the invitation letter? And can you advise how many months my mom can apply for the visa to stay here with us? We expect she can stay at least 12 months.

    Awaiting for your feedback.

    Thanks a lot

      Sandy Nguyen,

You can both write the invitation letter. Officially she can stay for up to 12 months. She would need to show financial proof that she can be in Australia for that long. Since she will be staying with you and your husband, your financial documents as well as hers may be sufficient.

Take note that stating that she will be caring for your baby is like saying that she would work in Australia. In that case you may be looking at another class of visa that enables a person to work. What I have experienced others do is ask for a visit from the Grandmother to share the joy of the baby and spend some time with you. For this type of visit, she may be approved for up to 6 months. Once she is in the country, before the visa expires, you can then attempt to extend the visa. At that time she may then be approved for another 6 months. It’s pretty easy to extend a visa if you apply before the current one expires.

      I hope this helps?

    Hi Admin,

My father, who is 82 years old, wants me to visit my sick mother who is in a nursing home. I am having a hard time asking my siblings to send me an invitation. My father is a pensioner living with my sister and her family. He said I can stay with them during my visit. Can I just apply without an invitation or can my father send me the invitation? I am currently working and can provide my coe, itr and credit card statements. I also have children in my country. I hope you can help me. Thank you very much.

      Hi Missy,

Unless you apply as a tourist, you will need a letter from your family in Australia. Your father can send you an invitation. If however you plan on staying with your sister, you will need an invitation from them as well. If your father is providing the invitation, then you may need a different place to stay. If you have the funds, then that may be your best option.

You don’t need an invitation letter to study in Australia. You need an ADMISSION LETTER from a school.

    Hi!
The sample examples given are really good and have given so much knowledge. I was wondering if you could help me with my questions.

I am planning to get my friend who have known for more than 5 years to come here in Oz(Sydney) to visit for 2 weeks, with a possibility of multiple entries(visa duration 3 months) My questions are:

    1. Which visitor visa is best in our circumstances – would it be the Tourist Stream or Sponsored Family Stream(I dont know if I can apply on this one)?
    2. Is there a bond required for such a short visit?
    3. If I will show a bank statement to show that I could support them, about how much money do I need in the bank?
    4. Approximately how much time does it take for visa to come?
    5. Is there anything other than this that I will have to keep in mind before submitting the application?
    6. What are the exact proofs required for my friend to show she would return back to home country(India)?

    Here are the circumstances:
    1. Most importantly – I’m on a 457 Visa and not a permanent resident. However, I have been in Australia since Nov’16 and the house I have rented is on my name solely – I can provide a Tenancy Agreement.
    2. My friend is 24 yrs old and working in the IT Sector(Full time)
    3. They don’t own any property under their names. But have a rental tenancy agreement for a year till Nov’2017.
    4. Friend’s bank accounts dont show more than 1000 AUD, but I’m happy to sponsor – Air tickets, stay, food and all the other expenses here.

So far what I have found out:

    1. Letter of invite has to be provided.
    2. Evidence of funds in my AUD account.(How much?)

Looking forward to some awesome help on this. Thanks!

      Hi Saumya,

Thanks for comments. I do not know how long it takes to get a visa to Australia from India. The time varies from country to country. However I suggest you always give ample time. 2 – 3 months ahead of the time you want your friend to visit is not too much. Yes if you are sponsoring your friend then you need to calculate the amount needed for tickets, and add daily expenses for 2 weeks.

You can use this website to give you an idea of costs – https://www.studyinaustralia.gov.au/global/live-in-australia/living-costs

If possible, it is always better for your friend to show that she can take care of the cost for the visit. If she has a regular income and 1000 AUD in her account plus ticket costs, she should be okay for a 2 weeks visit.
